In the first panel, the sign on the pub shows a glass of beer with a bar across it. Could someone explain that to this colonial heathen?

Andy better hope the neighborhood is not being “gentrified”. @ Afficionado U.L.M. I haven’t read a stupid question that you have posed yet-seeking clarification on a point where you are not sure of the material is a sign of intelligence; acknowledging ignorance on a topic that is not in your area of knowledge and expertise. That is vastly different than stupidity which I define as willful ignorance and is practiced by many people with closed minds who have not learnt a thing since they last passed to doors of academia but are willing to proclaim their stupidity with their loudest voice to the broadest audience.

Jack’s pub is the complete opposite of quaint.
