I don’t know if your news reported the rain we had up here today, but it was the most rainfall EVER on ANY day in the PNW!Our daylight basement had at least 6 inches of water. The hot water heater’s pilot light is out so no hot water for showers tonite.Dale had the pond pump in there all day and it was coming in as fast as he could pump it out. Tomorrow he is going to dig a trench so the water will drain away from the wall. We piled everything up high so no damage except the bottom row of wine in the wine closet is under water! lol

To continue with the costume thingy, today it’s elves!

The cats came back the very next day.The cats came back, we thought they were goners!But the cats came back, they just couldn’t stay away!!

@ GrahamI hope that everything is okay up there.We down here on the central Oregon coast are going into our third day of the storm system.We have wind, flooding and storm surge of up to two feet at high tide.No power outages yet, thank goodness…

Gosh Rose, send some of that water down here! What a mess, but no permanent damage? I hope the next 2 storms coming in this week sag further south so you can dry out and we can get soaked!

This is our third day of HEAVY fog, it lasts until around 1 or 2 PM, and in the early morning they call it “fog frost” because the fog is so thick and then ice crystals form on everything. In all my years, I can never remember anything like this, here of in North Carolina. Quite a different experience. But at least it isn’t snow!

Good news, things have stayed pretty dry over nite. We;ll see what the next storm brings.Maybe one of the big fir trees in the forest behind us will topple over, and our view of the river will be better. LOL

MCTS- what sweet pics today!

It just keeps getting better…….our tenant in the rental house called to tell us the water heater was spewing water out the top. We have a home warranty, but the plumber they assigned wants $793 to install it. And the heater costs $700. Dale said he is not gonna pay $1400. So he has been on the phone all morning. We’ve found out as soon as a repair “guy, place” finds out you have a Home Warranty they jack up the cost (price).Oh happy day!!!!!

Ok update. Dale called Lowes. $1000 installed. Tomorrow.Done.*BUT now the big window in our Master bath is leaking. We have towels on the windowsill. We can only laugh………….

I went to the shelter today.They are over full. Not accepting any more dogs.I went in to pet cats and found a litter of kittens in one of the meet-n-greet rooms.Six kittens.It was fun.Also, this id the first time i have been given the go ahead to photograph the cats.Here you go…

Awww!

It’s been awful here in the northwest. The flooding has been unprecedented, and it looks like more is on the way for the same area later in the week. It’ll stay that way until the pattern shifts.

Not bad where we are in the midlands, rain and wind, but mostly bearable. We’re not near any rivers or anything like that.

My daughter is in a knitting frenzy… look out cats and dogs!!!! LOL Hmmmm….I wonder what Moose’s measurements are and what color(s) would look nice on him. He is my nominee for ‘Cat Of The Year’. Graham, if you are reading comments, take note.
