This was originally meant to be a longer Sunday strip, but Bill Watterson thought it would still be funny as a daily strip, with only the first four panels. Also, there was no way that the sexually explicit themes in the omitted panels would have made it past the editors.
I add my applause to Gweedo’s for your learning English. English is one of the more difficult languages to learn. Even native English speakers don’t get it right all the time.I have outed non-native speakers because they used English correctly.

Is this an early strip? The drawing is not as good.

Six-year-old pirates don’t smooch! Eeeew, cooties! Maybe tiger years are like dog years and Hobbes is more advanced.

Murderous pirates smooch their booty.

Hmm… you know, for the first time I’m starting to wonder if Hobbes is expressing feelings of Calvin’s that he can’t admit to himself. ;)

You couldn’t answer that question in a newspaper in 1986.

Read your history, the pirates smooched with each other.
Get over it, they didn’t act any different then those prisoners in on long jail sentences do today.
Godfreydaniel about 9 years ago
If they were a clean band of pirates, instead of a dirty band, the girls might be more inclined to want to smooch them…..hygiene matters!

Hobbs must be a 60’s tiger: make love not war.

Hobbes is very smoochable <3

Pirates did much worse than smooching, unfortunately.

Calvin still looks different. Is the author/cartoonist on vacation and the “other” cartoonist drawing the strip?

The word “Smooch” even looks gross.

Murderous pirates don’t smooch? Maybe that’s why there aren’t many murderous pirates around today.

Hey … wonder if this strip is the precursor to G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy girlS)?

Did Watterson injure his drawing hand? The usual high quality is missing.

Hobbes is the alter ego representing Calvin’s suppressed urges, BAAAAABY!
