I recently used the free upgrade from Windows 7 to 10. Boy, was I glad that it came with a āput it back the way it wasā option. Too much change for this old guy.
The internet ruined QA jobs out there, companies just figure the end user can find bugs and theyāll release endless updates.
I know my company does just that, they have ONE QA guy for all the products and there is no way he can find all issues, so if it makes it past customer beta then it is just an automatic update.
The problem occurs is that a lot of America still canāt get internet, where I live I have one choiceā¦and it sucks so bad, could take days just to get a 10 meg update. I guess it could be worse, other people in my area still have to use dialup. Many forget that rural America has really crappy ISP service.
Very interesting conversations today. I, also, tried Windows 10 and went back ā too many problems.. My husband bought a new computer with Windows10 and has no problems ā I think that is the key.
I upgraded to Windows 10 at the office, and itās fine, and in my opinion a big improvement over Windows 8, which I really hated. With 10 I was able to make it look like XP, and I never see the goofy phone interface, plus I disabled all the ad stuff and news/weather updates. It works fine for me. Of course, I donāt do much with it other that office work. At home Iām still running XP.
a) if it changes everything itās not an update, itās an upgradeb) if youāre not smart enough to change settings so it doesnāt update automatically ā you deserve what you get.
Iām an old gal and I find that I actually like Windows 10. Go figure. Had Windows 7 till my old computer crashed. Never had to fight with Windows 8 and refuse to use the Cloud to store things. Donāt trust it.
Hate updates. When I learned how to use Windows 7 competently, windows 8 appeared when I brought my next computer. It was totally useless to me. Windows 10 has proven to be workable but irritable as features I was familiar with on Windows 7 canāt be found on windows 10. I hereby quit, by the time the next windows program āupdateā comes down I may be a Apple user. If Android donāt stop their almost weekly updates where change the way I work my phone I may do the same thing and go back to a landline.
I hate the automatic updates on my computer, the new system doesnāt give me any warning or ask if I want to update or wait to update, Iāll be in the middle of something and the computer will suddenly freeze up and shut down and then Iāll get a message that the computer is updating and all I can do is sit there and hope I didnāt lose anything as the computer restarts.

At least my phone is nice and asks if I want the updates. I politely say āno thank youā as I swipe away the question.

Opal, your phone is done for the count. I think youāll need to send it back to Verizon or visit a Verizon dealer.

My Smartphone does updates often. I had to download another Audio Recorder because the one I had no longer worked after it updated.
Sigh.
