Well, unless he is naturally only minorly hirsute, he must shave and shape his beard to a large extent anyhow, as most of it is rather “pencil thin” in shape on his cheeks, jowls, mustache, and chin. The small patch of that pencil thin area on his cheek should grow back relatively quickly.I would suggest, if he can, that he should let his full beard grow out. It is a helluva lot easier and IMO better looking than are the pencil-thin line variations. I have only shaved my neck line for over 30 years now.
