captain: Hey, wonder woman, love the new outfit! It's so practical, with the black jacket and pants! and if it ever gets battle damaged, you can just go to the gap and get more! A-ha-ha-h--!! captain: What? banana republic?
WW’s costume is designed by Jim Lee, who did all those X-Men costume re-dos in the late 80’s/early 90’s. Looks like one of those leftovers – I think it looks dated. Not the first attempt at a new look, though. How about her white pants-suit look back in the 70’s? She even dropped the whole WW identity for a while. Dick Giordano did a great looking Dianna back in the day. – As far as CapAm: bright red, white & blue works in old comics but in reality is suicidal in warfare. Would YOU wear that into combat? Toning it down doesn’t mean unpatriotic. Look at the black & tan Old Glory on today’s combat camos. Earth tones can kind-a work.
Captain America is SUPPOSED to be highly visible! He’s a flashing neon sign on the battlefield shouting “Here I am, you Ratzis! Take your best shot!”
When Captain America busts your bunker, you KNOW it’s him. He’s not a “secret weapon”, he’s a symbol, an INSPIRATION.
I’m not being facetious or sarcastic. Cap is the brash, straight-talking, straight-shooting, can-do America we were (or thought we were) in the 1940’s. If they don’t make him what he was SUPPOSED to be in WWII, then they lose the culture-shock of his transposition into the post-Vietnam, post-Watergate, push-button warfare culture of today.

The Lasso of Truth may not be the best choice when you’re asking the question, “Does this outfit make me look fat?”

More like WW, being sensative to her new politically correct uniform.

I hear they are also going to suck the red-white-and-blue out of Captain America, even though the movie is set in WWII.
What’s next, the Stars and Stripes in earth tones?

I used to dream I’d get her out of that old costume myself.
