Our gas fireplace has a pilot light. There’s a knack to lighting that—that I don’t have. The main furnace has electronic ignition, though. Thank heaven for that. I don’t think that even I could try to light a couch.

Whew! Glad to see Grandma’s OK…. Thanks Tony!

Speaking of thanks… and Tony…thanks Ladymadcat, from yesterday. It was also a reminder, that I shouldn’t just give up cos I “already” Googled something and didn’t find it.

There’s a lot more information out there about Tony now than when I looked a couple of years ago…and one of the interesting things …hope it’s OK to post this, Tony! …is that he also reworks and “reimagines” old, but working, electric guitars into gorgeous Steam-punkish fantasy instruments…

I loved looking at them…. See for yourself!

Though I have to wonder…. does the fact that Tony lives in southern Ohio necessarily mean that Agnes does?

And BTW… I lived in the Cleveland area, myself, for part of my childhood.

I don’t mind at all, Susan. :-) I like building the guitars. In the beginning, I was vague about where in Ohio Agnes lives. There are pockets of the poor all through the state. I think I will leave it vague for now.

I really wish Grandma would apply for assistance and get herself and Agnes into government housing. It has to be better than that trailer.

The guitars are cool. It does look like you need a license to play some of them; perhaps a 3 day waiting period. I dig some of those whammy bars.

I feel for Grandma. My rider once dumped me at a parking lot because she didn’t want to come over to my road, leaving me to walk – without boots – about a mile and a half. I didn’t even have boots. By the grace of God, a friend had stopped at the grocery store for cigarettes and recognized me. He was astonished, amazed, appalled, and brought me all the way home.

@rshive“Some of the places where the family lived in our nearby major city have been long torn down for “urban renewal”. ".One of the many fascinating aspects of governmental social assistance was the fact they could take many dumpy dwellings and turn them into fewer dwellings — also dumpy within a year or so..I love America. We generally mean well.
