Thanks to the late posting I cleaned up my inbox am now listening to a “Marriage of Figaro” podcast from Seattle Opera while I visit the comix. So it worked out ok for me.

I got a booth at the antique mall in Newport.More later when i can stop and compose an update on the campaign.

The mom and her 2 little girls just left with both babies. I could hardly believe my eyeballs – the girls are 6 and 3. We all know how a 3 yr old can screech. And she did – not in a bad way, but just excited to see and hold the kittens. And those kittens let these kids man-handle them, carry them, do whatever they wanted and never made one move to jump out of their arms, scratch them or anything! The mom was super good in teaching them about how to hold them but let’s face it, kids are kids. They have had adult cats but never kittens. Remember, these were close to being feral until 2 weeks ago. I’m still in awe of those babies letting themselves be passed back and forth, picked up and I would say put down, but they never were.

On the down side, the black one is coming back tonight. The guy called and said his wife got a job and would be gone all day and it was not fair to leave a kitten alone. I told him that was why I had encouraged them to take 2. Well, now those others are gone.

I called both Susans to see if anyone had a kitten I could have for a playmate but they don’t. I feel bad that he will be alone. Maybe Susan will let me call Bobbi to see if she will loan me one of their kittens…

An update on my campaign.Today i acquired a booth at the antique mall in Newport. Its almost 4 feet wide and two feet deep. It is also towards the front of the store, within sight of the check out counter. The nice hutch that i was given will fit in it very nice side to side. with a little room left. That means that i will be able ti hang some clothing items on one side or the other, like my boss suggested. I already have some Hawaiian print shirts to put up there.I still need to find something for the hutch to sit up on. A short bookcase or sideboard. Im going to Bi-Mart in Lincoln city tomorrow to see what i can find that is cheap but will still work. I checked out Fred Myers and everything there is just a little too expensive. If worse comes to worse, i have some cinder blocks that i can make work. I don’t want to, i think that it would look tacky that way. I want to have a nice presentation.The booth is costing $55.00 a month with a two month minimum, except that they prorated the first month for me starting today.I put $88.00 on my credit card. $55.00 is a deposit and will be returned when i cancel the contract. Its for the malls protection. It protects them from deadbeats.I have $50.00 cash from my boss for next month. It will need to be paid before the first of next month.I hope this works. As i have said before, it is mostly a way to get word of what I’m doing out there. If i make enough to pay for the booth over the next couple/several months i will consider it worth it.At best, it may draw some interest in my campaign. At worst, it will be educational. It would be nice if i could keep it going through the summer and the tourist season.IF it pays for itself.I should also update all of you on the campaign itself. I haven’t do so in a while.I was thinking early this month that December would be a bust for me. What with Christmas and winter bills and all. Boy, was i wrong!Thanks to a handful of regular contributors i got $380.00 last month!Woo Hoo!Thank you everyone!As someone told me, It might take a while, but we will get there.Thank you all again!
