Hey... That's a Christmas wreath... What? Where? Here in the hall. Why'd you put this back up after Christmas? I didn't think we never took it down. Are you sure? Maybe it crawled back down from the attic on its own. That's more comforting to you then we just got used to it being there?

Maybe Eddie helped it down from the attic.

This one is for everyone- like me and my family- who discover that fancy candle on the mantle or the garland over the hallway door or whatever it is that should have been shoved in one of the boxes and dragged to the attic a month ago with the rest of the decorations.

The Christmas Wreath looks lovely. Why take it down?Oh yes. Because it’s not Christmas. Walked straight into that one!xxx

I can empathize with this strip, we’ve had this happen many times in my household.

Are you trying to tell me that I can’t just leave it there all year long?

I put away my Christmas decorations on January 1, but I have a lot of things that are winter without being Christmas (think snowmen). Those stay up until March 1 when I bring down the spring things.

We put up our Christmas stuff late due to things we have to do before same that we have little control over. Therefore we leave them up longer. We put up a lot of decorations as we don’t have much else of a holiday. I go years without getting any gifts for anything and husband will buy a book or a DVD and then I wrap it for him to open. We haven’t been fortunate enough to have children, so there is not even children around.
So we start taking our inside decorations down the 3rd Monday of January (because we had to set a date and picked same). I have been working on and off for 2 weeks taking items down and storing them. I had husband check the living room, dining room, and downstairs entrance area for anything I missed – yep, forgot a battery candle in a stained glass holder. The only other items are the Christmas bear figurines I put out in the living room, which cannot be put away and replaced with the Valentine ones until I put away a teddy bear Christmas village upstairs as downstairs bears are stored in the box that the upstairs ones are on. The upstairs set up is our favorite setup and gets put away last, except for what stores under it. I have to do that this week/weekend. Last year we added lights to the gazebo in the teddy village. This year I got a family of 4 bears cooking hotdogs on sticks and got a brown battery tea candle so it looks like a fire for them to cook over.
