She had a wildside, I wonder why a lot of women lose that as they get older.

Janis should live in the present…after childbirth (stretchmarks) and over 25 years of marriage to have an admirer deliver her (favorite) glass of wine in stemware is priceless. What a keeper Aro is.

What a nice gesture from Arlo, no strings attached.

Nice gesture but, of course, Arlo does get to take a peek at Janis in the tub.

It looks like Arlo’s eyes are shut in all 3 panels, he’s not seeing anything.

Going out on a limb here, but I bet that’s the sort of thing that most of the successfully married men who read this strip already do for their spouses (if we had still up and down voting we could agree or disagree by voting … oh well). I once had a friend who called what Arlo does “putting a deposit in the love bank”.

My DH works on what he calls the “2×4” method. He wasn’t taught to be gallant (or whatever one calls it these days) so he told me early on if I wanted anything like that, cards on important days, chair pulled out, door opened, tea made, I would need to use the verbal equivalent of a 2×4 to make sure he understood what I need. I’m naturally adept at caring for him, and he felt badly he wasn’t so now he gets email reminders for important days and I don’t pussy foot around for being spoiled on rare occasion. I just ask. Communication is in the top 3 in marriage, along with love and attraction.
