Hey, is everybody sleeping around here?

    (grumble grumble) Off I go…..

OK, Tony wants to know…“Do you still use books?”

Of course I do, Tony. There’s one under this chair cushion right now, to make it higher.

You read books while you are driving? Wow, that’s different. Normally it is people reading their newspaper or texting.

I don’t know about you, but it’s hard for me to turn the pages without spilling my coffee in the car. And don’t get me started about all of the rude drivers honking at me.

Do I read books? Yes I do and once I read an entire novel while driving home from work….I worked on an island and one year DOT built a new bridge and reworked the intersection to the bridge. It would take me over 2 hours to just get off the island.(A normally 10 minute drive) I would sit in the grid lock and read…slowly inching up every few minutes or so. It took them two months to completely finish the intersection and the bridge was not the bridge I needed to get. The new bridge was coming from the main line and I needed to go across another bridge going in the opposite direction to another island.

@TonyI am an insatiable bookworm. I currently have a book on the go in the living room, one in the bathroom, and one in the bedroom.

Hubby had an e-reader and got tired of it. We are both insatiable readers. Books everywhere. Only purchase a few, mostly get them from the library, which does keep them from piling up. We never go anywhere without a book in purse or pocket, and we take “good” magazines (Discover, Smithsonian, etc.) to leave behind when we visit nursing homes and hospitals.

What do I say that sounds “off”. Lots of things. Sometimes an idea sounds really good when I think it, but I open my mouth and let it fall on he floor for all to hear…well, let’s say it needs to be reworked.

I’m reading a library book at the moment. They network with all the libraries in this area so if they don’t have a book, they can find it for you. I, too, have a tablet and get e-books from the library and once a month I get a free e-book from Amazon. I also have a bookcase full of used paperbacks from prowling the used book stores. Long Live Books!!

I have dead tree books as well as a Kindle and a reading app on my phone. I’m never without something to read.

QOTD:Do school textbooks count? But on a more serious note (I mean, seriously, who actually reads the textbooks assigned?), I love reading when I make the time. And I prefer a good ol’ physical copy (paperback or hardcover, don’t care), but the Kindle and iBooks apps are nice for trips. Currently in the middle of “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” and “Again to Carthage”, with plenty more on the shelf.
