In spite of all the wild conjecture, it’s really just a simple misunderstanding.Bernie’s doctor told him last Thursday that at least three times a week, he should go out and take a few laps around the park.

So Bernie dresses up, goes out for lunch…and then takes whoever’s laps he can find around the park..

Really, Dr Hagen should print up a few instruction sheets!

    Um… Bev…

Good luck with that idea about GoComics….I mean, I hate to tell you…but there’s only ONE GC website.when it’s uploaded to their servers, wherever they are, it’s… well… it’s uploaded.

Everybody who can connect to it on the internet sees it at the same time. There’s no way to make access to it regional, or to stagger it, or delay it for some areas.

If GoComics continues to want to usher in the new day when it’s midnight in Kansas City, it will ALWAYS be 10 pm here in California.

    Nyah nyah nyah.

Bargrove…. I fear that you might be right…. or close to it.

Allan is being pretty polite about it, so maybe he’ll be understanding, and hold his temper in check.

But due to the fine weather, the Ballard Street Branch of the Bodybuilding and Begonia Society has moved its Bimonthly Brunch outdoors…They’re in the picnic area… just a hundred yards away….

If a punch from Allen doesn’t end Bernie’s new exercise program, surely the next lap he takes will definitely be his last.

Bev…. I told Sallie that her Amateur Orthodontics and Sandwich Shop was on shaky ground already, even without offering free braces with every bologna surprise sub.

Not only are her permits invalid…but looking at that picture, you can see that aluminum foil is no substitute for professional braces, like those done by Doctor Dalton…

And he gives you a FREE 3.8 × 4.1 ft storage unit as long as you get three yearly cleanings.

    Bev and Brian …

Time zones are confusing. But GoComics is in Kansas City, and they upload the strips just after midnight… whether they’re on standard time or DST.Whatever time it is in YOUR time zone when it’s about ten minutes after midnight in Missouri will be the time the new comics arrive for you.

For me, right now, that’s 10:10, for you, Brian, 11:10… for the East coast… it’s already after one on the morning. And yeah, in Hawaii it’s way earlier, cos they’re way farther West. So for you, Bev…well, seems to me you’re always going to be on pretty close to the same time as Kansas City. If they stay on Daylight saving time, so will you… And midnight will still be midnight, and the comics will still change then, even though it stayed light an hour later, earlier in the evening.

For the rest of us, though, it’s still a matter of the relationship between our time and Missouri time. On the first of November, when it’s midnight in KC, it’s 10 pm in California. If California “falls back” to standard time a few days later and Missouri doesn’t, it’ll be only 9 pm here when it’s midnight in KC. Massachusetts, for instance, will have fallen back an hour, too… So when midnight falls in KC, it’ll also be midnight there. In fact, their time will be the same as yours all winter… until April when they “spring forward” and you don’t.And till then, I’ll be 3 hours behind you, instead of 2.

The upshot is, every November, your time will stay later when ours shifts back to earlier… Your comics will still come at midnight but the rest of us will get them an hour earlier… on the clock, anyway… until we get back to DST in April. (The reality, of course is that we all get them at the same moment, anyway… but our clocks say different times.. which they have to do because the sunlight comes at different times when you move East or West.)

BTW…Comics Kingdom is a King Features site…Very few King properties are also distributed by Uclick and appear on GoComics.Arcamax and a few newspaper sites have even more Uclick comics and start earlier… But it doesn’t matter to me, cos I want to read them and comment HERE, not there.

OK, that sounds more complicated than it really is…

All you actually need to know is, you’re in MO, and so is Kansas City (home of UUClick) .

I’m pretty sure they’ll just keep posting the new comics at 12:10 AM CDT… just like they already do every April, and you don’t notice cos you switched your clock at the same time.

So NOTHING WILL CHANGE FOR YOU. But the rest of us who change back to standard time will step out of sync with Missouri time, and we’ll see them an hour earlier on OUR clocks. So we’ll be even father ahead of you.Hahahaha….

(BTW… if anybody cares and I phrased one thing wrong….when I said “even though it stayed light an hour later”… what I meant was, if MO goes on permanent DST it won’t start being dark an hour earlier, the way it does for the rest of us when we have to switch back to Standard time.) BTW Linguist…. yes but you’re on NY time.

Occasionally Everyone Needs a Mommy or Daddy; a lap to sit on, a loving smile, but when you are old and no longer have the one who usually loves you unconditionally, you have to rely on the kindness of strangers.
