I read a lot of bad yelps about good places. For instance if you go somewhere that has cheap prices, don’t expect valet parking and haute cuisine. One local steakhouse is cafeteria style and people hate that. The place is good and very reasonable with an unlimited salad bar. But people ding it cause they have to move in line with tray.
On the recommendation of a friend I made a reservation at a small Italian restaurant in Boston’s North End. As we approached I saw a long line of people waiting to get in a restaurant door a ways away. “Good thing I made a reservation”, I thought. When we got there it turned out our reservation was for the place next door, which was almost empty. We went in and had one of the best dinners in a long time. I wonder what that line was waiting for.
