Halley’s comet was a huge disappointment for me. I read about it at a young age, and how impressive it was. It turned out not to be visible to the naked eye. Bleah.
Superstitions are so middle aged. It’s good to believe in something, but something hat gives bad luck and/or brings destruction, well, that’s too much.

If Calvin was older, he could do what B.D. did in Doonesbury to get out of doing a term paper.

Lately I’ve been wondering about the copyright date on these showing 1996. I thought C&H ran new from 1985 through 1995.

In 1910, at age 8, my grandma tried to get out of doing the dishes using this same excuse. Didn’t work for her either.

Sorry, Calvin! A comet appearing in the sky does not get you out of your school assignments; past history and superstition notwithstanding!

The world ends every night; but for most, begins anew every morning.
Just remember, tomorrow will be the first day of the rest of your life…
