Hmmm, who has to give kitty a bath before he gets syrup all over the house, and who has to mop the floor? I sense a lot of denial in this family.

Time to get out the scissors… nah, make it hedge clippers to liberate Muffin.

He tried to mop the kitchen with the cat?

Last panel should have read: “I did, and now the mop is stuck to the floor”.

Good heavens, in that house they do use a lot of super glue!

Quick, put that ointment in his ears while he can’t run away.

What’s wrong with this picture ? Earl’s getting the mop and Opal’s reading the sports page checking the hockey scores.

Notice that Earl didn’t rush to the cat’s aid. I’m surprised he even mentioned it to her.

Is no one else mourning the loss of the morning maple syrup? (Assuming, of course, that it was genuine maple.)

Oooh…maple syrup spill….that’s actually seriously hard to clean up. My little brother once broke a whole bottle of maple syrup on our kitchen floor, and despite the next ten or so years of us cleaning that floor, it always did remain somewhat sticky forever after. We didn’t get a non-sticky floor in there until my folks finally just replaced the linoleum in the room.
