George Washington’s wooden teeth is a myth. His choppers were made of lead, human teeth, cow’s teeth and elephant ivory.

In a past National Geographic Magazine article, it was discussed how Washington’s body structure, especially in his back and chest, was characteristically of the male “aristocratic” class of his time. The type of restrictive clothing he wore in his formative years caused this to happen. Can’t find the article again on-line, darn it. As I recall, a sculptor commissioned to make a full-size image did the research in order to get as accurate a depiction as possible.

If Abraham Lincoln can hunt vampires, I guess George Washington can kick like Chuck Norris.

Of course, some revisionists theorize he was a woman in drag; after all, he and Martha didn’t have any children.

Hey—how about the FACTS? Washington never had wooden teeth! It’s an unfortunate popular myth that still exists today. Just go to any legit historical site with GW’s history/bio and you’ll see the real history. The strip is pretty good when it comes to not mixing myth and truth—let’s keep it that way.
