Anybody know where to find more information about this painting? I did a Google Image search on the artist’s name and found lots of his work out there, but not this one.
A click-to-enlarge version of this cropped image can be found at Mr. Melcher’s blog entry. A full, click-to-enlarge image can be found here.Vertumnus and Pomona (links show their Wikipedia pages), is shown with a different coloration image by its current-location page. When I first saw it, I thought Pomona was holding a bottle, not a knife, in her left hand (Mr. Melcher’s caption eluded me, until I saw the larger image). The artist’s Wikipedia page (Google translated Dutch Wikipedia page has more) and collection (more under Subcategories at each level).First, of the 2 works, by this artist, that have, so far, appeared in Mr. Melcher’s blog (both yesterday), to also appear here (1 total).
