Yes, state-sponsored murder that routinely sentences people of color of color to death for things that whites get jail for, and has no mechanism for correcting false convictions (which are way common) is perfectly fair.We shall leave for another time the fact that it 1) is far more expensive than incarceration and 2) has no deterrent value whatsoever (and rather limits the chance for rehabilitation….)

I’ve got no problem with state-sponsored murder. If the lawyers would get out of the way it would be a lot cheaper and quicker. Agreed, it has no deterrent when you commit a heinous crime, receive the death penalty, and it takes years to go through the courts. Fast track the legal procedure and then criminals will start to think twice…….and let’s bring back hanging. For those offended by my attitude, sorry, but I don’t follow being politically correct.

how about disembowelment, followed by drawing and quartering? Oh, and lets just skip that trial part, too. We all know that if the cops charge a guy, he must be guilty!

It darn sure cuts down on recidivism..BTW: I agree with @Egrayj. I believe if there are absolute witnesses, or video, or confession; Do not pass go, do not collect $200….Zap!

Execution would not be so expensive if it were not for the years of US having to pay for the condemned lawyers at hundreds of dollars per hour, and for years.

Only problem with killing someone by using the death penalty sentence is that sometimes an innocent person is also killed.
