Agree, scissors is the way to open those, but what do they expect you to do on the airplane?

Well, it’s Opal’s fault. If she hadn’t been gnawing on it, Earl would have open it no problem. As it is, she weakened in an unpredictable pattern and Earl’s measured efforts produced unexpected results.

At least that is what Earl would like to think. :)

I did that with a bag of skittles in the car. Would find them now and then as long as I had that car.

I didn’t know Opal had flown anywhere. Did Earl go with her? Where did they go and how long were they gone? Did they bring us anything other than a stupid bag of peanuts?

Earl is no help as usual.

I did that trick once with a bag of birdseed. Only did it once – some lessons stick with you.

For the most part,, you don’t get peanuts on airplanes any longer – peanut allergy concerns. But there is a proper way (technique) of opening those and similar bags – most people don’t open them properly.

The bags tear down the side, not across the top or mid-seam, silly!

I didn’t know they gave peanuts away on broom stick airlines.

A rabid ferret would be perfectly OK with eating the peanuts off of the floor.

Yes. Hightail it out of here before she shouts at you to clean it up.

I did that once with a bag of pasta from a Hamburger Helper.

WOW – Who coulda’ seen THAT coming….. ;-)

I have the same trouble with bottled drinks. The lids are a nightmare to get off. I have to cover my hand with my dressing gown sleeve to prevent hurting my hand.

Do NOT read this comic just after you’ve taken a big swig of water and not swallowed yet……….it’s not good for the keyboard!

Many bags have a tiny cut in the sealed portion of the plastic or even a saw tooth edge which provide stress concentration points and make opening the bags extremely easy, using a simple shearing motion.
