No reason to think she broke up with Chester, she is giving him a hug, consoling him, not taking him to the prom. I think it’s a very nice gesture on her part.

It was a nice gesture for both of them. Kim, seizing the chance to console Nate with a “hug”. Nate, not declining. (But it was either that or he couldn’t escape. Oh well. He’ll recover by tomorrow for the Sunday Strip.)
