I love the fact that Duke’s health certificates were “pouched” over from France. Not faxed ! Not emailed ! Pouched !

It brings me back to the early 70’s when I had a job as an international courier, shuttling documents back and forth from the U.S. to Europe or occasionally Hong Kong.

I was flying on average twice to three times a week roundtrip to Europe.

The pay was very good, and the clients flew me First Class, but sitting on an airplane of 8 hours or more, turning around and flying back, gets old in a hurry !

I think the expression " to dime someone" is still used, but few people will be able to understand the origin without knowing that an anonymous phone call to the cops once cost a mere 10 cents.
