Iâm from Bronx, New York and I never spoke those mispronunciations. When I went to school, we had it drummed into us to speak properly and I have ever since. As a result, I have no accent whatsoever and no one can tell where I am from originally. They have to ask where and then they say I lost the accent. I had to tell them I never had one.
