Make it a de-caf coffee, John. (Fourteen hours of driving?! What Canadian town is roughly 14 hours away from Toronto? Quebec City perhaps? I, an American, don’t know my Canadian geography that well.)

Used to do that before cruise control, my ankle would get sore being in the same position for hours.

I’ve done that, drove CA to SLC UT one day as the only driver (my mother couldn’t drive manual transmission). I remember being desperate to relax and got a snack, a beer, and a hot tub, soooo nice!

I once did Tulsa to Phoenix in one excruciatingly long day. 1000 miles in 17 hours.

French have no neutral gender. Everything is either masculine or feminine. The articles “a” and “the” are “un” (masc) or “une” (fem) and “le” (masc) and “la” (fem). The plural of “the” is “les” for both genders. Instead of the agony of learning the gender of each noun, I just used feminine for a noun that ended in “e” and masculine for the others. Not always accurate, but I passed French four times. So, legaleagle, I would say “une café”. Also, in America we would say “pass me the potatoes”, in French they would say “pass me some potatoes.” I may be showing off, but I have to use my hard learned knowledge somewhere.

A comfy couch and an iced cold beer would be far more welcoming, John !
