I remember a Dilbert on this topic. The engineers didn’t move enough to keep the lights on, so the pointed-haired boss hired someone to stand around waiving their arms. The final panel was Dilbert commenting to Wally (within earshot of the new hire), “So, another journalism major enters the work force.”
