Yeah, probably would have done the same thing as a little kid. Except I’d have one hand under the “barrel” and the other on the “butt” near the “trigger”. Looks more like a rifle than a pistol at that length.
Also, the first speech bubble is really interesting! Not only is it a lot more complex than the usual “humming” bubbles in comics, but it also shows us how much Schroeder loves music.
I guess people will start banning hockey sticks now. I remember reading a story about a kid getting into trouble because he ate a Pop-Tart & munched it (vaguely) into the shape of a gun.

remind me: how did Schroeder get chosen later on to be Charlie Brown’s baseball team’s catcher?

Were those Schroeder’s first words in English in this strip?

He need only don a hockey mask and pretend he’s Jason.

Uh-oh. Violation of the zero tolerance policy. Any child reading this strip in school gets a three day suspension.

Ah, for the days when kids could pretend to shoot a gun without making everyone suspect they’d grow up to be a serial killer.

Schroeder’s not wrong, it does sort of look like a weapon.

I wonder if they still have cap-guns. Always fun. The whole roll would unreel from the gun.

He forgot that you should always keep your stick on the ice.

That’s pretty close, Schroeder…

A hockey stick is a weapon. (just ask my son why he was always in the penalty box.)

Well, Schroeder did play hockey later in year. I suppose this is where his interest started, even if he didn’t get the correct idea at first.
