But every year tragedies follow from failed equipment… broken or missing strings and the like.

I remember those! Also those paddle-balls with the long elastic attached to the ball.

My brothers would detach the string right away and shoot at things. Intentionally, of course.

I generally hate commercials, but the one where the guy is testing a new driver by hitting the apple on another guy’s head is a classic.
