if I recall from one C&H strip, Calvin asked his mother to make him a PBJ with the J in a separate container so he can spread it himself before it would soak the bread by lunchtime and wanted the bread slices to come from the middle of the loaf for he utilizes the end pieces for toast… she didn’t do it
I remember when the striped jars of PBandJ first came out…never bought one. For some reason it grossed me out. Also I like to make my own combinations, thanks. Now peanut butter and dill pickles—that’s good!!

Pain de Campagne with Crunch Time peanut butter, romaine leaves, anchovies, and croutons.
Olive bread with Old Fashioned Smooth peanut butter and manzanilla, kalamata, and picholine olives.
