I could never figure out what the deal was with all of the anti-coconut strips when I was a kid. If I say that I like coconut, does that get me ostracised from Peanuts fandom now and forever?

I like coconut. BUT coconut flavored cough medicine? Hey, I like orange too but I can’t stand orange flavored cough medicine. Tastes disgusting, and I expect coconut flavored couch medicine would be the same. What is it about cherry that’s so tolerable? I mean seriously, that’s the only flavor I can stand. I’ve accidentally gotten mixed berry a few times thinking I was getting cherry (they oughta find a different color for that stuff so folks can steer clear of it) and it’s a thousand times worse than orange.

I don’t mind the flavor of coconut but I don’t like coconut pieces on or in my food I feel like I am eating bits of string and I don’t like cherry taste at all as it reminds me of medicine

Coconut is like Marmite: love it or hate it. I happen to love it, but coconut scented bath gel etc. here in S. Europe doesn’t smell like coconut—it smells like a musty room. Coconut flavoured cough syrup does sound pretty dire. If they made it taste like peanut butter, now…

Nor I. I wouldn’t have lasted long on Gilligan’s Island. I would have starved to death living on those coconuts.

I tell my daughters that medicine should taste bad so that you’ll want to take it so you would get better & not have to take it any more. (Oh, and count me as in the “hate coconut” camp.)

So, chocolate cough syrup then?

When I was a lad, our local pharmacist came up with an orange flavored cough syrup that was great! For some reason, though, he switched to some sorta red formula that tasted vile…

Yup, that’s why I never liked either Almond Joy or Mounds bars. And, unlike the much better Three Musketeers or Forever Yours or Chunky, which were a nickle, those coconut bars cost a dime!

Well, Charlie Brown and I have something in common! :)

The world is divided into those who like coconut, and those who don’t. I love it. My sister hated it. So when we bought a pound of Brach’s Pick n Mix, I always made sure half a dozen coconut creams went in the bag. She could have the “circus peanuts”, the chocolate covered whatevers (raisins, ugh) and everything else. I knew she’d keep her greedy little mitts off my coconut creams!

I love coconut! Pies,candy,etc,but,like Charlie Brown, I’ll pass up the cough medicine kind. :(

When I was a kid we got the real coconuts and drained the milk out then broke open the coconut and eat it.

I might tolerate coconut depending on how sick I am, but not black licorice.

Who can stand cough medicine period?
