The Hubble Telescope has revealed there are more stars in the universe than grains of sands on all the beaches of the earth. Hard to even fathom that.

Point of reference: A double handful of beach sand is approximately a million grains.

The number of stars visible in the sky (from an area without urban light pollution) is precisely the same as the number of hairs on an adult bear. Hence the “Ursa major” and “Ursa minor” constellations named in their honor. Anyone who doubts me is welcome to count both on their own, and thereby prove me wrong.

There are only about 5,000 stars visible to the naked, average, human eye, MinutePhysics points out. And, because the Earth itself gets in the way, you can only see about a half of those from where you stand.Gracie may have counted a couple of them twice.
