Cripes, Andropov is a bit of a deep cut- he, Chernenko and Gromyko are almost forgotten between the two behemoths of Brezhnev and Gorbachev I would think.
I remember when these came out. i was in college and focusing very heavily on the soviet union. I was a teaching assistant and one afternoon had just settled down to grade midterms when I got a call from a telemarketer selling time-life books of the world ‘and our first book is the soviet union,…" he went into his sales pitch and then I said "I’m sitting here grading college papers exploring the argument ‘was stalinism an extention of or perversion of lenininsm.’ there was a long pause then he said “I guess these aren’t for you.’”“Uh-yup.”
There could be an interesting SciFi “alternate Earth” story in which all closets are fully interconnected. As early as the 1950s, I still remember conversations with people who suspected “weird presences” in or near their closets.

A Russian president, formerly of the KGB, meaning to intimidate the 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue resident? Does he have a pee-pee tape?
