Opus’ line in the last panel is one of my favorites in the history of Bloom County.

Andy Kaufman passed away a year or two before this strip ran. However, as with Elvis, there are rumors that he faked his own death and is still living in disguise to this day.

Point. The writer should be locked up in a rubber room.

If that’s “sticking to the script,” he probably needs a rewrite.

Sounds like a plot for a “Hallmark Channel” movie.

    Mr. Breathed was certainly self-aware.

Why would drug mobsters steal Opus’ credit card? I doubt his credit limit was much over $500 or such.

You have performed your part well, Mr. Penguin Opus.

But this writer guy, what’s his name? Breathed from Berkeley, or some such? He’s been smoking way too much locoweed, and we need to have a serious talk with him! I gotta couple of the boys out looking to pick him up….

Given the social media theories of today this plot line sounds too plain to be anything but true.
