Sad, but true.

Fortunately the Internet seems to have a little more room.

My local newspaper recently gutted the comics and puzzles pages. Very upsetting.

Syndicated features are a hard cost easily redlined by the bean counters as revenue drops.

It’s why I stopped reading the paper in 2008.

Remember the weekend paper with a whole separate section for comics in colour?

My two are the same,comics and they are old bad strips, some just bad strips, strips that make little or no sense. One paper gutted a good section of it’s strips to put in the junk I will not follow! Thank god for toons on the computer.

And that’s about the cough size of it…

That’s why I’m here. I can pick my own and read in expanded, digital color. (except for the classic stuff)

I dumped the local paper when it started costing $1.50 for 12-16 pages, half of that being ads. Much more info online plus Gocomics for all my editorial and humorous cartoons. It’s too bad, I had taken the paper for 45+ years before that.

Amen! This is only too true, even more now (2022). So sorry, Opus!…
