If I remember correctly, the unemployment rate was 4% when Bill Clinton left office.

I have a feeling that no matter who wins the Presidential Election, Mr. Sungenis is going to have more material than he’ll know what to do with.

Haven’t been with this strip long, and I’m quickly becoming bored with this non-satirical politicizing.

It’s a misleading statement. A: clintons rate was at 5%, and B the main point is not that nobody had jobs its that people lost good jobs, and had to take bad ones due to nafta.

Business moves jobs overseas not government; except for armed killers, er, defense forces.

There is humor, and there is politics, and there is political humor. Unfortunately this strip barely manages the first, especially when it swerves off into the weeds like it did today.

Okay – now this strip has veered into pure bullshit. Do your homework, Sungenis. Hillary Clinton was first lady when NAFTA was passed. She was against NAFTA but could not speak against it because her husband was for it. She was already in enough trouble for being too politically active.Robert Reich, who was Bill Clinton’s economic advisor, was for NAFTA and had a devil of a time arguing with Hillary Clinton about it.

As for the next trade deals, Hillary Clinton was in the state department. She did not vote for or against the trade deals but she also could not speak against them because it was her job to support her bosses policies.

Please Note: One of Bernie Sanders biggest drumbeaters, Robert Reich, supported NAFTA and only now in hindsight, considers that it was a bad deal. Too bad, Reich. You blew it.
