Just turned 72. Work 30+ hours a week at my son’s sign shop. Everything from pushing a mouse to installing signs on rooftops. On weekends I do honey-dos. Last weekend I built a deck and unloaded 3/4 ton of blocks for a retaining wall.
I worked as a hoddy 20-some years ago. It was the hardest physical labor I’ve ever done, literally moved multiple tons of material every day. Frequently worked 10-16 hour days. After about 3 months of it I was in phenomenal shape!
Hmm, it sounds good but I weighed 256 lbs. when I was still working. I’ve lost 25 lbs. since then being retired. I could stand to lose more but I’m moving the right way!

And someday his back will get even with him for carrying those bags of cement.

Given a bag of portland cement is often 90 pounds or so, this is quite a load he is carrying…

It was the family motto that “Hard Work Never Killed Anybody” but boy, it sure put people in such a shape that they WISHED they were dead.
