From the looks of him, he doesn’t do many.

I think that he just likes hanging around in his underwear (or as my two-year-olds like to call it when they are in just diapers: NEKKED).

I like Mr Neely’s do-it-yourself chinning bar, made with cheap galvanized pipe fittings. But he didn’t need to place it so close to the sidewalk.

Isn’t that always the way? Iformants alway tend to eat lead before spilling the beans.

    Nicely done!

And the humans did well in finding an actor who looks so much like that snitch.

Sam Basset certainly does a good job of flattening himself on the sidewalk. I hope he’d visited a local fireplug before this.

    Whoo hoo!

    What a great animation…

The third episode of “The Maltese Basset”

in the August 28th  2020 “CLEO and COMPANY”…. on Sherpa, of course…

Where else could you find such wonderfully animated comics?

The artwork in this one truly shines, Nighthawks.

LOVE the doorway, with its bricks, and stuffed mailbox…

Sam’s trenchcoat.. and the sidewalk-pressed view of him.

    And Mister Ious is perfect!

BTW, he does die very early in this version…

    Oh my….

Does someone perhaps want him out of the way?

Gasp! I was just thinking…. could it be the very same person who wants to slow Mr. Basset’s investigation?

Wow! I wonder whether that has occurred to anybody!

The smoke is very well done, too…

though really, Sam should NOT smoke.

It’s very bad for his health….

though… sigh… I suppose a frequent rain of bullets might be, as well.

Life is so cheap in that milieu.

    So… there’s a beautiful, but possibly treacherous, woman involved…

and an unseen, but supposedly priceless, artifact…

Plus who knows what sort of dangerous enemies, obviously lurking close at hand…

trying to slow him down, or perhaps even do him in.

OK, maybe one cigarette would be all right, Sam.

I’m so glad this isn’t the end of the story!

Good Morning Ballarders and Mr….T’weg Qdate: 168.98257.26 and we may get some much needed rain tonight.

Another episode of the Serial Maltese Basset. Unfortunately, again there was no cliff to hang from at the end of this one either. Poor guy never had a chance to pass the information along.

    Y’all stay in suspenders. (((((HUGS!)))))

I enjoyed the nonchalant way that Sam, a la Harpo Marx, pulled a lit cigarette out of his coat pocket. That, plus his basset-quick reflexes (without relinquishing his cig!) and shifting eye focus. I’d say Sam has definitely caught the scent now.

I love today’s animation! What a treat this whole story arc has been. (Either I don’t get out much, or it’s really done well.) I’m surprised Mr. Tailwagger didn’t tell us his favorite part. Mine was seeing Mr. Ious standing on the very same sidewalk that Claude does without pushing a button. I wonder where he would wind up?

I just love Mister Ious, even though we won’t see him again. The suspense is building!

Why do I have this feeling that miss Behave is behind this whole thing? Is it possible that she has a lot of insurance on the trophy and will get rich on the insurance?
