With Fiends like those…

Does this mean that Justin is finally getting to hang out with the biggies? Could fame and fortune be far behind? Or is it just another joke?

(Baslim’s reference to Hal Foster makes me wince. One of the stupidest things I ever did was throw out what I thought was an empty shipping tube containing a limited-edition numbered poster of Prince Valiant’s Episode 2000 signed by Foster. Sob!!)

OK, The Calvin-Hobbes, Watterson reference I get. Somewhere along the line I’ve seen Mooch and can guess McDonnell is connected there. Pastis does Pearls Before Swine which must have a rat in it. Is there a reason why Pastis punching someone in the stomach is funny? Did Justin have a bad run-in with him?

GEE1A - and a lot of the rest of us just keep our fool mouths shut and smile like we understand.

Lucky for him he didn’t go talk to Mark Tatulli.

Hi Ed, If you don’t read Mutts and Pearls Before Swine you’re missing two great strips! McConnell of Mutts is indeed an advocate for shelter adoptions. Pastis has a rather dark (and goofy) sense of humor. Pearls includes a gang of crocodiles whose mission in life is to kill and eat their zebra neighbor, but they’re too stupid to ever manage it.

Ouch! The trials of being a cartoon. At least they can recover from worse things than most of us–just look at Wiley E. Coyote, Supergenius.

Love this comic! Patrick McDonnell is the creator of Mutts—where Mooch and Earl call home. What fun references. With regards to Mark Tatulli, Heart and Boody would get along great, so would Lio and Boody!

Considering how often Rat beats on Pig, having Pastis sock Boody one in the gut makes perfect sense to me.

This has to be my all time favorite!! I love Pearls!!!

For the Bamiki Bandoola (Children of the Forrest), Anansi Tory was a wise spider, always giving helpful advice and defending the village. I wonder then, How this Anansi shall do.

I bet Walt Kelly could have given Boody some great advice. In a world made up of Gods and Superheros I am sure Walt is nearby.

Hmmm – Boody with a L’il Pup? Come to think of it, he and Pogo have a lot in common.
