Many gardeners find they need to stop and just stare at what they created, or at least stop to smell the roses.
I confess that while I am tending my small city garden I literally stop and stare at it. Though this does actually help with pest control. While staring at my lilies growing up through a low growing “Fairy” rose I saw some bug eggs deposited at the base of some lily leaves. So I took my gloved hand and crushed them.
I have no idea what kind of bugs they were, but I do know they were not ladybug (ladybird beetle) eggs…. I have learned what both the eggs and resulting larvae look like. I encourage them!
Though I am waiting to find myself being described on my local “Nextdoor” social thread as the “weird person walking through the neighborhood smelling our roses.” I confess, I walk through my neighborhood and smell the flowers.

A garden that tiny doesn’t call for a whole day of work…

Why have a garden if you only work in it all day, better to enjoy it. Relax and smell the roses, lean back in a comfy chair with a nice glass of wine.

I am happiest when in my tiny garden. I often just sit and be happy.

I think the daisy is also smiling in the last panel.
