I guess he lost conscieness. So will Holly try to drive? She is so small now. Or maybe Doc becowmeshis badger self, heals, and regains conscienceness immediately .Where is auto correct when needed? I think I may have spelled wrong. She is at least really alert and will do what she can. I’m glad her trauma hasn’t made her catatonic or something.I know that sever trauma can and is often compartmentalized by the brain. It’s how many of us manage to function.
Holly is too small to drive. Doc is too big for her to move. The hospital is probably the worse place he could go. Holly would be found. Doc is already identified. Remember those eye pieces on the NDCC suits see and can probably transmit what they see. Doc is in the files I would imagine. A friendly hospital may help and delay reporting but I imagine APEX has eyes everywhere. Doc would arrested on sight so no “bad” press gets out. The NDCC has shown they have no problem with extreme prejudice methods. I would assume an autopilot is in there and may sense a release on pressures to the controls. Much like the F16 flight stick requires you to force the stick to center. It lets the aircraft know you are awake. If a g load knocks you out you release the pressure on the stick. The automatic system kicks in leveling off the aircraft to the presets. So if the car is set up that way it will go till either overridden by Doc coming to or runs out of fuel crashing outside of the Endtown settlement. This goes with the paper Sparkplug was reading. This must be in the western area of the Endtown saga. The paper said the western area was devastated by the virus. The suggestion was massive casualties.
Cooper said the residents of Endtown were there days before the actual End, so someone must have gathered them together when things started falling apart. This seems too early for that, though, because no one knows about mutants yet, and I think there’d have to be a few more weeks for them to become an issue and be rounded up in Pep Cola Stadium. Some of the residents were at the stadium, so their gathering had to be after that. But someone may already be gathering mutants, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the car crashes and Holly and Doc wake up in Endtown as early arrivals.“Holly… I don’t think we’re in Hillside any more…”“Look! Lions and tigers and bears!”“Oh my.”
After getting a view like that, I can understand why Holly spent two years of her life enjoying ‘the view’ at Angus’ watchtower in Endtown.I’m sure Endtown looked real peaceful at the time, before the Milk Trial turned everything upside-down.
Since we saw Flask re-incarnate as the Duchess overseeing the construction of an Endtown style habitat. Was it stated that the construction of that town will take many lifetimes? If so there was a long lead-time before the mutagenic plague happens, someone was already coordinating the move into Endtown.
I’m wondering if the Oracle may be a very old Flask after her body got too old and her mind somehow got transferred to the water. The Oracle and Marx know each other well enough to have a history. The Oracle’s prescience may be memories of her past instead of visions of the future or present. This would indicate Endtown was prepared for this world by a Flask just as it’s being prepared for parallel worlds.Because we know the rats aren’t mutants, then maybe they were bred by Flask to be Endtown’s security force. They loved to follow this world’s Flask’s orders so much because they’ve already been following her orders through their uplifting and training. If Flask has been uplifting rats to be security, then she may have been uplifting other species for other purposes. The Lucraneans may be one of those species, created for economics when there were no computers yet to calculate the finances she’d need to salvage the world.
Beautiful reaction expression in the first panel. And this is with the superimposed outside view reflected in the window. And then this transfers to her own point of view. Very cinematic.I can only add that mutating into a mouse must have cured Holly of her vodka hangover.
Coyote,I have heard that Aaron Neathery has said that there is no time travel in “Endtown”. Marx didn’t send Philomena Flask back in time so that she could become the Dutchess, he sent her to another reality where he couldn’t go. She joined up with that reality’s version of Marx who apparently loved her as much as our Aaron Marx did. While Flask spent several lifetimes working on creating that reality’s version of Endtown, she had nothing to do with the one Wally and Holly resided in. There may have been someone similar to the Dutchess in this reality who created our Endtown, and its possible that she may have mutated to become the Oracle. Then again she may not have.
I looked back at 5/6 and 5/9 and noticed 2 things. The exit holes on the cop are not huge gaping messes, which is good for Doc.I hadn’t noticed that the NDDD guy was distracted by an explosion fairly close, giving Doc time to get away.Sometimes going back and looking at things again can help. And again I marvel at Aaron N’s rendering of Holly looking out the window, seeing the city and we also see her reflection in the glass. Awesome!

Looks like the Doc just passed out, Holly grab the wheel or engage the auto pilot if there is one.

Wonder if Wally and the others are in the back seat with Holly, just as they were when human Holly drove her car?

I’m looking for a dachshund, if there were one in Endtown, would it be an antagonist to Doc? He is a badger after all.

Holly can stick her finger in Doc’s bullet wound. That’ll wake him up enough to get him to do a hard landing.

Now for something a little lighter, I saw this cute “Tailspin” parody in a, um questionable fan site. I bet Hillside was never this adventurous.
