I have been to a Seattle Thunderbirds hockey game once some years ago, but didn’t stay for the full three periods.

No wonder mosquito bites hurt so much.

Perhaps a way to think of hockey is that it has four periods but only three need to be played unless it can’t be decided in the first three. ;)

Ripley’s tends to play fast and loose with the facts, sometimes. A mosquito’s proboscis has 47 sharp edges on its tip to help it cut through skin.

Not true! American high school and college wrestling has 3 periods.

Didn’t King Alfonso also go by the nickname Mad Dog?

So King Alfonso hails from Leon. Did famous Spanish explorer Ponce De Leon come from there too?

King Alfonso’s kingdom covered partly modern Spain and partly modern Portugal.

Correct, mosquitoes have no teeth. On the other hand [or rather, the end of the proboscis] they have several cutting edges. There are only a few, but with multiple facets, sometimes specified as 47, and are often called teeth, even by some scientists. But they certainly are not teeth like ours, nor used for the same purpose. Rather they cut only one thing (skin), more efficiently & painlessly than a hypodermic needle (tho the chemicals they leave behind can cause itching (if you are lucky) or pain).
