I didn’t realize that Torrey had 6 fingers - that is one big hand. The guy behind her looks like Kevin from The Office.

Behind Torrey, Spaulding says, “I want a hamburger, no a cheeseburger, fries, I want a coke, I want Torrey… You’ll get nothing and like it!”

Thanks, Threejack. I was trying to figure out who that was in P1. A little surprising that the 18th is a par 5. Not many courses are set up that way.

    Awwwwwww….tough break Stiles.

Kemper wins, fair and square and does it without Carl’s “help”, putting the final nail in Carl the Tool’s coffin.

Onto to the gridiron - where you at, Ghost?

There are those people again that are all dressed in black body suits. They show up at all of the Milford sporting events.

I am confused again, if its match play, and the golfers “win” each hole, how can they be tied after 17 holes?

Are they playing based on who wins the hole or strokes?

I dont golf, I have never seen a reason to and this story line confirms everything I think about golf, its for rich elitist snobs who cheat and lie and never did an honest days work

well, maybe I am being over the top with that last one, but I just dont like golf or golfers

Aww, golf is ok. I was forced to take a course in it as a college gym requirement and realized that, like fishing and hunting, it was a way for men to enjoy Nature (flowers, trees, sky, brooks, etc.) without worrying about their masculinity being doubted (i.e. it was supposedly a “woman thing” to enjoy flowers, trees, sky, pretty places, and the like). Golf allows you to walk on grass and, like artists, appreciate Nature, and you can still be competitive and aggressive, rather than seem “artistic.”

    OldGrey:

In match play, there are holes that neither player wins; these are tied, or “halved” in the vernacular. So there are many ways two players can be even, or square, through an odd number of holes. For one example, if Kemper wins eight holes, Chris wins eight and one is halved, they’re square through 17.

Hoodad - I think the trend away from par 5 finishing holes is a trend of course design in recent decades. Prior to 1980 or so, par 5s were generally regarded as the best way to finish. A lot of classic courses have finishing par 5s, but you wouldn’t know it because they’re played as par 4s for PGA-type events - such as the 18th at Oakland Hills.

What’s really rare is a par 3 18th - but it happens, such as at Congressional Country Club.

I play four courses regularly, two finish with par 5’s and two with par 4’s. The only courses I ever played that finish with par 3’s are par 3 courses.

Plus, OldGrey, it’s fine to not like golf, but many of us golfers are pretty decent types! :-)

P1: The awful shirt, the double chin – Brent Raptor? And he’s stalking Torrey. Now that could make for some interesting story lines.

This is just giving me a headache. Please bring on the two-a-days so we can get the football season started before Thanksgiving. Does MILFord have a kicker this year?
