Evil always has more money. But, just think of what a boring world it would be without a little evil here and there? With no evil there is no good, only sameness.

Now I don’t mean Hitler evil, but the occasional crooked politician or overpaid, over-self-indulgent celebrity who is caught is fun to read about.

Evil doesn’t have to earn their money like the rest of us. And they cheat on their taxes.

^^They cheat on more than their taxes - they pretty much cheat at everything. Their response to this? Nothing personal, it’s just business.

“Now you know why the Republicans keep getting back into office; evil has more money.”

And yet, Obama had far more campaign contribution money than McCain.

Perhaps there is no real difference between Repubs and Democs. It’s kind of like the Jets and Dolphins or Lakers and Celtics (or any other two rival teams). The fans perceive a big difference and are emotionally involved in who wins. The owners all belong to the same club, and they all make money whomever wins.

Again, I say - watch the movie “You Can’t Take it With You.” Except for a few moments that reflect “the past,” it’s pretty relevant.

Hitler, Atilla the Hun, Pablo Escobar - evil doesn’t always win.

And as Sheik Yerbouti pointed out, Money is still on our side.

One other aspect is that evil rarely plays by the rules. While not exactly the most polarized “good versus evil” scenario, I think the scene from “Pirates of the Caribbean” nailed it, when Will Turner says to Jack Sparrow, “You didn’t beat me. You ignored the rules of engagement. In a fair fight, I’d kill you.”

To which Jack Sparrow replies, “That’s not much incentive for me to fight fair, then, is it?”

Taking advantage of our convoluted tax code is not evil.

I’m reminded of all the ads for “defense” contractors that run next to my cartoons, net news columns, or even on CNN and the other news channels. They spend more to make more, whether it’s profits, or war, is well, what would Ekert drive?

I did my part on 2 here (now) and I only hope that they will all get punished (Dante style) in the hereafter… It is not the only reason to live a just life however. I spent hours last night before sleeping thinking about who I will want to see from my life (very few) and I want to make sure that I make the kind of connections with my children and others so that they will cherish me that way!

@ Hoomi: That brings to mind one of my favorites: “Me? I’m dishonest, and a dishonest man you can trust to be dishonest… Honestly. It’s the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they’re going to do something incredibly stupid.” - Captain Jack Sparrow (Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl)

Evil would be the inability to see the evil on your side of the fence when it is the same as the evil on the other side of the fence. Selective blindness is hardly political. Someone once said you’re evil when complaining about the mote in your brother’s eye when you have a log in your own. My own case included here.

Meaning as usual, evil is doing when He told us NOT to do.
