I’m retired and I love winter. No bugs, no heat, I don’t mind doing a bit of shovelling, and it’s the perfect excuse to veg out and play computer games!
My mother liked winter, and her reason was simple. “You can always put more clothes on.” Unspoken was there was a limit to how many you could take off.
I am extremely prone to heat sickness, and bright lights give me migraines. I DESPISE summer. It literally makes me sick. Of course, I might change my mind if I ever move to a place with more temperate summers. But living in the deep south, June through August is just torture.

Long winters ain’t so bad. Once “cabin fever” sets in, delusions of reality can be quite entertaining.
