I knew Mei Kusakabe sounded anime-ish, but I never seen the anime in which she was casted. Which anime is that anyway? (Maybe Baldo thought it was a kind of Subaru, Honda, or Toyota.)

Mei is the younger human protagonist of My Neighbour Totoro. Her older sister, Satsuki, is the other main human character.

There oughta be some anime with cars at least as cool as a ragtop Chevy Impala.

Why, yes. No reason Baldo shouldn’t be interested in a cartoon four-year-old girl.

I am with Baldo. I don’t have a clue what she – or some of you posters – are going on about. I’d have guessed a new car, also !I am ( obviously ) not a fan of Japanese animation/art.

Girls talk about a wider and more interesting variety of subjects which explained why I had very few male friends and a lotta female ones.

In the history of human existence, no anime fan has ever said “I really like the look of Mei Kusakabe.” How does one respond? “Yeah, she certainly is a somewhat generic little girl from a 1988 film.”

He’s even unaware that girls/women don’t just talk about a different sort of car? Ouch!

This is why I liked his first girlfriend—they had things in common (before the authors decided to turn her into a Mean Girl)…

At least Baldo is trying to talk about REAL and tangible stuff.

I bet Baldo would love the anima Initial D, it’s about a group of high school friends who are downhill racing enthuesiests who just got their dl’s.

My Neighbor Totoro is one of my favorite movies of all time, but Kanta is my favorite character.
