One of my dogs loved cheese, the problem was cheese didn’t love him. I was a pain to clean up after he had some cheese.

Try holding your dish in your mouth, a la Oliver Twist. That usually works. Or sigh and lean against the cupboard, as if you are too weak to sit up. One or the other will work.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I will definitely take future comments like that from you as the “snark” you intend. Thank you for taking my concern as such, and not as insult to be answered in kind.Ok. Respect and warm fuzzies restored. Back to the funny stuff! :-).

Hey Gweedo, it seems you’ve a good head and heart for animals, and don’t feel you have a good home for them. What about volunteer work? There are rescue organizations (including no kill and foster based) that could use help with walks, for example. Myself, I’m “aiming” for an Aikita group in my area, to help with walks. Lots of variation on that theme, something might fit your time and temperament near you. Myself, I haven’t the time for responsible dog ownership anymore, but love and miss dogs (and have always adored and respected Aikitas – bonus!).Just a thought.

Not much of a punchline, is it.

No, Sophie – you are not strong enough in the Force yet. In the meantime, you could learn from my Lab:-

Vigorous tail-wagging helps, and if all else fails, sit up and beg. For a Labrador, that’s almost a guarantee of success.
