That’s like the old prayer story. Kid starts praying: Our Father, who art in heaven, Howard be thy name.

I like the pelican. How many people have a polican for a pet? It’s a novel idea, it’s totally foolish and his attitude fits this family well.

The kid has obviously picked up a comment somewhere over the years, and as we all have done, he’s screwed it up badly. I love today’s strip, it’s clever and very funny.

The pelican is horrible enough that I may not read this strip anymore if it doesn’t go away. Please get rid of the dam thing, it’s just stupid.

Look, you mutant clods, they saved that bird from a horrible fate, and now want to gave him a fate worse than that by offing him in this strip?! You got your nerve!

Uh, guys (Josh, Tink, and Dora), this strip is also at comics.com. And this keeps up, that’s we’re going to start reading it from now on!

The pelican will still be there. If you don’t like people defending the pelican, don’t attack it in the first place.

The TALKING pelican just doesn’t make sense in a realistic comic. It’s more of an intrusion. In Non Sequitur, Lucy can talk to Danae, but not to everyone. Plus, that strip takes to flights of fancy, so there isn’t this feeling of shaken reality.
