Good morning, everyone, and Happy Canada Day to those of us north of the border. I think our celebrations will be muted, it’s raining here and we are supposed to have thunderstorms later today.
Nice story on the rescue of the kitten. It takes a low version of “human” to do something like that !
It takes a very special typeof person (s) to take the time & effort to stop, rescue, treat vet-wise, & take home the cat or dog. Bless all who do the the good work of rescuing.
After carefully sifting my sources, I could find nothing dealing with birds or dogs today. But fear not, I found 10 pics dealing with cats! Some are even funny to me. One had to be cleaned up (Naughty, naughty, swearing cats, doncha know?). Here comes some catitude.
Good morning, everyone. I got mail last night from a friend who is a police officer in MD. On Monday, late at night, he’d just finished up a shift when he saw some cruel, heartless idiot throw a kitten out of a car at some road construction workers.
He stopped and got the baby. The next day was a trip to the vet. Bear is 1.4 lbs, got a flea treatment, started his shots and passed the feline leukemia test. He has a sore back leg but nothing is broken.
For now, he’s confined to the den but is exploring, eating and using his litter box. He favorite place is up on his newdaddys’ shoulder. I’m supposed to get pictures soon.
This is not the first rescue my friend has made. One was after his son saw somebody toss a kitten over a bridge down a river bank. I asked for an update on the current menagerie.
We met back in the 1990s in an online chat room and hit it off. Since then, we’ve met twice. The first time he picked up up at the Baltimore airport and the second time we met him and his wife at an old, stone mill for dinner.
These people are true animal lovers and have never turned away a furry kid that crossed their path.
Great stuff everyone. Wish my day yesterday was better. A lady brought a kitten to us she had found in the street. It was crawling and crying. Covered in dirt and tar. It was over 100 out and we guess the baby to be 5 days. We intubated it to get fluids started and then gave more fluids drop at a time. Cleaned it up and it was still alive. We can’t foster it as we have 15 babies now and no room, the lady said she would try so some good thoughts for the youngster.
It’s tough to foster them this young as they have to be fed every two hours or so. It has a chance although very slim. We gave it our best effort. I will let everyone know the results as soon as I hear.
Happy Canada day all. I dread the 4th, my cats live in terror for two days as the illegal ones explode for hours. Gonna be a long week.
We had a LOT of people looking at kitties today. One family adopted a pair. They were not siblings but were turned in at the shelter together One was a grey Moose and one was a black Scooter. They were about 11 weeks old.
A lot of people were serious about 2 of the adults and said they would be back tomorrow. We’ll see.
We have a girl interested in a grey female but she never answered her cell phone and it was not set up to take messages.
I have 3 kittens again. Lori, who lives near me, is going for a long weekend on their boat. They were going to take the little Peanut like they did last time but there are going to be more friends on the boat this time and Lori thought it might not be safe this time.
Queen: Good for your cop friend. That is one lucky kitten. That b——-d should rot in hell.-————————————————It is raining cats and more cats…too bad for the concert goers who are, at this moment, trying to enjoy Paul Simon and his band mates. Sometimes I can hear the music 1/4 mile away…but not with that downpour. Our satellite TV reception is affected too. -————————————————
Neal: thank you for your rescue efforts. Am praying the little guy pulls through.
my 2 have different styles for watching cat tv, Sammy likes to stretch out on the shelf while Dean curls up against the screen. Yesterday I saw them sitting together and had to take a pic, you can insert assorted little kid comments – my thought was “mum, he’s sitting on me!”

My cat’s ideal way of getting love and affection from me is to wrestle with my hands and arms. Of course, I ALWAYS let him win!!!
