Vicki: But we're not buying!
Rose: I'm sorry...we must be having a rude connection, bye.
Too much phone spam these days. If I don’t recognize the number, I don’t pick up. It can go to voicemail. If it’s legit, they’ll leave a message & I’ll call back (or pick up if I hear a familiar voice). Most hang up before the machine kicks in.
I like to wait three rings before picking up. Often its an automatic call to multiple numbers and some other poor soul answered first.Another favorite technique for automated calls if I pick up first, I put the phone down and let them yack away and tie up their system for the duration. Eventually, their system hangs up and then I hang up.
When people like Reader’s Club call me I listen to their BS. When they want my credit card number I give them a fake one. When they tell me it does not register I read the numbers backwards to them. I keep on playing their games until THEY finally hang up.

The first refusal is polite.
If it requires a second one, I say “What part of ’I’m not interested’ did you not understand?”

I keep getting phone calls in the morning. They ring once and hang up. Very annoying!

The “do not call” doesn’t work very well.

The Nomorerobo service works VERY well…unless your telephone service is AT&T.

If you have a landline, get a Tel-Sentry. We never hear robocalls or sales calls anymore because they can’t get past the screening device.

I get so many robocalls, calls for political donations, and whatnot that I have my phone on mute. Any number I don’t recognize, I don’t answer.

No is a complete sentence. No need to explain yourself. Quite simple really.
