But it’s so easy to induce a need to pee. He could have been more subtle, though. Maybe talked about the nice waterfall he saw on PBS or a bubbling stream, and asked for something only after she got up to go.

My brother would wait and wait and wait until someone was getting up to ask them to bring him something.

Janis is going to bed.

I’ll get my OH a drink if he has a dog on his lap. Otherwise, he can get his own drink.

My wife and I play this game with each other all the time but we both know it’s a game that balances out equally. We don’t mind doing things for each other and I expect Arlo and Janis are the same.

In most households, that’s man code for “Get up and get me something to drink.” “NOW.”

in Old School America, you could say “get me a beer, woman”

He also stole her seat on the couch when she got up!!

Is it possible that everyone missed it? Arlo suggested something liquid, which caused Janis to have to visit the ladies’ room, and simultaneously making her have to get up so Arlo could get someone else to get his drink. Janis most certainly did not just get up to get Arlo’s drink.
