My father was a member of the NRA but, if he were still alive, he would have quit a long time ago. He would be disgusted by the stand the NRA takes today.
AARP hasn’t fought to make sure everyone still has access to armor piercing bullets, and large capacity magazines for centerfire weapons. “Cop killer” bullets, going back to those Teflon coated ones, have long been favored by the NRA to make sure “solid citizens” can defend themselves from police.
The assessment of loving “God and guns”, actually crosses the racial divides in this country, which is rather interesting. “E pluribus Unum”, was what MLK preached, as have others from many other groups, it’s about equality, not “more equal than others”.
