Some years back I read a short SF story about where earth was invaded by aliens who, while they had an FTL star Drive, the rest of their technology was at the level of the 16th Century Spanish. Needless to say we cut them to ribbons, analyzed and copied the drive, and went out to conquer the Galaxy!
